RF Module

The RF Module are stand-alone fully

operational transceiver modules with
integrated antenna filters.
RF Modules host the RF Functionality and
provide control and power supply to Flexi
Antenna Line.
Radio-Related (Modulation,
Channelization, Analog RF Processing,
Power Amplifier , Antenna Filter) processing
is performed in the Module.
The RF Module are able to support three
sectors in a Flexi WCDMA base station, this
type of RF Module is Known as Triple RF
Module.

FSES Overview
• FSES is an over voltage protection device. FSES is used to protect Flexi Units in
case of indirect lightning strike.
• FSES is used in DC input when the input line is more than 2 meters. This is the
case in feeder less site solutions. Cabinet installations or stack installations are not
the main stream for FSES.
• FSES is used in LTE, WCDMA and GSM/EDGE
• Protection level of FSES is 15kA.

- estimated weight of the FSES (1000g,may be slight over 1000g)

(FMFA) Flexi Mounting Kit for Floor, Wall and Pole
Flexi BTS modules are installed on the floor, wall or pole using Flexi Mounting kit for
Floor, Wall and Pole (FMFA). The plinth is required in BTS site installations without a
Cabinet and it provides grounding points for BTS and module grounding.
 The maximum number of modules in a stack is nine (maximum total height 22 U).
 In floor mounting, the plinth is fixed directly onto the floor for earthquake Zone
4 requirement.
 In wall mounting, the plinth is fixed onto the wall either by using adapter
mechanics or directly to the wall. The maximum number of modules per plinth is
two.
 If using FMFA, in pole mounting the plinth is fixed onto a pole mounting kit
(VMPB or FPKA) by using adapter mechanics. The maximum number of
modules per plinth is two.
 The FMFA delivery includes two fixing plates for the casings. Used in pole and wall
installations, the plates are attached across two module casings on both sides of the
Modules.

ANTENNA AND FEEDERLINE INSTALLATION - GENERAL
PRECAUTIONS

Storing cables indoors is recommended

Be careful with the RF cable during transportation, protect
the cable from physical damage, sharp bending, crushing,
water ingress, etc.
Check the cable ends before installation
Protect the drum/cable ends after cutting; preferably by heat
shrinkable rubber cap
Grounding kits: sealing class IP 67. Follow the
manufacturers installation instructions carefully in order to
obtain a good water seal and avoid damage to the cable.
Use proper tools for preparing the RF cable for the
connectors. This saves time and results in better performance
terminations.
Do not over-tighten grounding kits and cable fixing clamps
as this will damage the cable!
Be prepared: have the right tools for the job!

ANTENNA AND FEEDERLINE INSTALLATION

INSTALLATION
Verify that antenna supports/poles are installed and in
right location.
Check the delivered antennas & installation hardware
are correct and complete.
Fix the down tilt kits to the antenna.
Hoist the antenna up to the antenna support.
Note: when hoisting antenna in foul weather
conditions, it is necessary to control antenna
movement to avoid damage. Use ropes etc.
Install the antennas on the antenna support exactly
vertical or with a specified offset.
Use the data specified in the BTS Site Installation
Parameters to set the antenna height,
vertical/horizontal separation, direction and down tilt.
Connect one end of the antenna jumpers to the
antennas, leaving the opposite ends open.
Note: the open ends should be protected from
moisture.
Clamp/tie the jumpers to the antenna support.
Secure the antenna fixing clamps with the DOUBLE
LOCK NUTS provided.
