Pre-treatment

• To eliminate production related impurities


• To convert to required ionic form
• To move trace leachables from new resin
• To allow for swelling
• Alternative washing with HCl and NaOH
• Intermittent rinsing with water until pH
neutralized
• 3 swell-shrink cycles
