CSOs needed Data

On shelf data:
• Formally Registered
• Have a known premises (Have physical office)
• Location (Far from/near to the Mentor residency)
• The volume and fund
• Have a board of directors
• Number of paid staff
• Number of finance staff (at least 2 finance staff)
• Have been audited at the end of every year
• Multi-income

• Level of capacity
• The level of Board stewardship and effectiveness
• The level of management flexibility and change acceptance
• Does any of the board members has a finance background?
• Organizational ready for the support ( ready for capacity building process
without being overwhelmed?)
• Currently working in implementing projects
• Willing to enter MOU to NAMA/NICE to provide commitment
• CSOs wants to be developed
• Have good reporting history to NAMA/NICE
• Take contractual obligation seriously

Mentoring Process:

• Phase 1: Get to know the organization


• (collecting data – meetings – Health check)
• Phase 2: Assess current risks
• (Mentors to use Humentum Assessment tool)
• Phase 3: Agree action plans
• (Coordination – meeting- contract)
• Phase 4: Support the change process
• (Mentoring – Coaching – providing tools)
• Phase 5: Re-assess risks
• (Assessment tool to measure progress) 4
Phase 1: Get to know the organization

•  Request information for the desk review


•  Set up first meeting with key personnel
•  CSO completes self-assessment Health check
•  Carry out a desk review

Support needed from NICE

• Communicate the process to the nominated CSOs


• Contract with the selected CSOs regarding the FM mentoring initiative
• Conduct an introductory meeting between the mentors and CSOs (Humentum
representative may attend) but its Important to be led by NICE
• Manage high coordination with mentors and CSOs in order to avoid any disturbance for the
CSO as a result of lots of meetings and visits or requirements
• Support Mentors whenever needed, (in case CSOs are not responding to the Mentor’s
requirements..etc)
• Regularly getting in mutual feedback between (Nice – Mentors- Humentum) to reflect on
the capacity building progress of the CSO
• Provide support to Mentors in order to access the CSOs locations (paying stipend)
• Communicate any FM struggle they face with the CSOs, to the mentor in order to consider
in his capacity development activities.
• Offering any information which might be needed about the CSO to the mentor.
