 2D vs 3D

 3D Scanning

 3D Modelling

 3D Printing
Two Dimension: 2D

A 2D, or two-dimensional, shape has length and height as its dimensions. Circle,
triangle, and square are some of the most common examples of 2D figures.
Three Dimension: 3D
A 3D, or three-dimensional, shape has length, height, and width (depth) as its
dimensions.

Advanced Manufacturing (AM)
Introduction: AM
Advanced Manufacturing is the use of innovative technology like 3D Printing to
fabricate physical parts, model or assembly using 3D computer aided design (CAD).
3D Scanning

3D scanning is the process of analyzing a real-world object or environment to collect

data on its shape and possibly its appearance (e.g. color).

The collected data can then be used to construct digital 3D models. The collected
data can then be used to construct digital 3D models.
3D Modelling
3D modeling is the process of developing a mathematical coordinate-based
representation of any surface of an object (inanimate or living) in three dimensions
via specialized software.
3D Printing

The 3D printer head or 3D printer extruder is a part in material extrusion additive

manufacturing responsible for raw material melting and forming it into a continuous
profile. 3D printing, also referred to as additive manufacturing (AM), involves
manufacturing a part by depositing material layer by layer.
