GOALS SMART is a mnemonic acronym used to guide individuals, groups and organizations in setting productive and realistic goals in the future. • What is it exactly that I want to achieve? • How will I know success when I see it? • What are the indicators of progress and success? • Do I have sufficient resources and capabilities to attain my goals? • Will these be available when needed? • What makes my goal significant? Is it worth pursuing? • Is it aligned with my other goals? • Is this the right time to pursue it? • When is the most appropriate time to attain my goal?
