Physical Changes
• A change in physical appearance.
• No new substance is created, although the matter may
take different form.
• Occur when substances are mixed, but don’t
chemically react.
• Changes may reversible, especially phase changes.

Chemical Changes
• Involves the production of a new substance.
• The new substance formed is entirely different from
the original substances.
• The product of a chemical change cannot be brought
back to it’s original state by ordinary means.
