HARDWARE
What is computer hardware?

computer hardware is the physical

components that a computer system
requires to function. It encompasses
everything with a circuit board that
operates within a PC or laptop; including
the motherboard, graphics card, CPU
(Central Processing Unit), ventilation
fans, webcam, power supply, and so on.

 Display device, Monitor
 Input Devices, Mouse, Keyboard
Computer case
 Thecomputer case serves critical
functions much as skin does for the
human body. System cases protect the
computer chassis, hard drive,
motherboard, and other internal
components for advanced blade
servers, computer networks, or small
desktop units.
Motherboard
 A motherboard is the main printed
circuit board in general-purpose
computers and other expandable
systems. It holds and allows
communication between many of the
crucial electronic components of a
system, such as the central processing
unit and memory, and provides
connectors for other peripherals.
CPU (Processor)
A central processing unit (CPU), also
called a central processor, main
processor or just processor, is the
electronic circuitry that executes
instructions comprising a computer
program. The CPU performs basic
arithmetic, logic, controlling, and
input/output (I/O) operations specified
by the instructions in the program.
GPU (Graphics Card)
A specialized processor originally
designed to accelerate graphics
rendering. GPUs can process many
pieces of data simultaneously,
making them useful for machine
learning, video editing, and gaming
applications.
RAM (Memory)
 Random access memory (RAM) is
a computer's short-term memory,
which it uses to handle all active
tasks and apps. None of your
programs, files or streams would
work without RAM.
Hard drive
A hard drive is the hardware component
that stores all of your digital content. Your
documents, pictures, music, videos,
programs, application preferences, and
operating system represent digital content
stored on a hard drive. Hard drives can be
external or internal.
Cooling fans
A computer fan is any fan inside, or
attached to, a computer case used
for active cooling. Fans are used to
draw cooler air into the case from the
outside, expel warm air from inside
and move air across a heat sink to
cool a particular component.
PSU (Power Supply Unit)
A Power Supply Unit (PSU) is an
internal IT hardware component.
Specifically, a power supply converts
the alternating high voltage current
(AC) into direct current (DC), and they
also regulate the DC output voltage to
the fine tolerances required for
modern computing components.
Display device, Monitor
A computer monitor is an output
device that displays information in
pictorial or text form. A monitor
usually comprises a visual display,
some circuitry, a casing, and a power
supply.
Computer mouse
A computer mouse is a hand-
held pointing device that
detects two-dimensional motion
relative to a surface. This
motion is typically translated
into the motion of a pointer on a
display, which allows a smooth
control of the graphical user
interface of a computer.
Computer keyboard
A computer keyboard is an input
device used to enter characters
and functions into the computer
system by pressing buttons, or
keys. It is the primary device used
to enter text. A keyboard typically
contains keys for individual letters,
numbers and special characters, as
well as keys for specific functions.
Webcam
 A webcam is a video camera that feeds or
streams an image or video in real time to
or through a computer network, such as
the Internet. Webcams are typically small
cameras that sit on a desk, attach to a
user's monitor, or are built into the
hardware.
SOFTWARE
What is computer software?

Software is a set of instructions, data

or programs used to operate
computers and execute specific tasks.
It is the opposite of hardware, which
describes the physical aspects of a
computer. Software is a generic term
used to refer to applications, scripts
and programs that run on a device.

Microsoft Powerpoint
 It allows users to create visual
presentations comprised of individual
slides. Microsoft PowerPoint 9 is
easy-to-use presentation software
that runs on Microsoft Windows and
Mac OS operating systems.
PowerPoint is commonly used by
business people and students to
create slide show presentations.
Microsoft Excel
 MicrosoftExcel is a spreadsheet
developed by Microsoft for Windows,
macOS, Android and iOS. It features
calculation, graphing tools, pivot
tables, and a macro programming
language called Visual Basic for
Applications.
Microsoft Word
 MicrosoftWord or MS-WORD (often
called Word) is a Graphical word
processing program that users can
type with. It is made by the
computer company Microsoft. Its
purpose is to allow users to type and
save documents. Similar to other
word processors, it has helpful tools
to make documents.
Adobe Photoshop
 Photoshop is Adobe's photo editing,
image creation and graphic design
software. The software provides many
image editing features for raster
(pixel-based) images as well as vector
graphics. It uses a layer-based editing
system that enables image creation
and altering with multiple overlays
that support transparency.
Adobe Premiere pro
 Premiere Pro is used for editing
videos, commercials and other
film, television, and online video. It
is a comprehensive video editing
software application and is also
available as part of the Adobe
Creative Cloud set of applications.
Adobe audition
 Audition is a comprehensive toolset
that includes multitrack, waveform and
spectral display for creating, mixing,
editing and restoring audio content.
This powerful audio workstation is
designed to accelerate video
production workflows and audio
finishing and deliver a polished mix
with pristine sound.
Autodesk Revit
 Autodesk Revit is a building
information modelling software for
architects, landscape architects,
structural engineers, mechanical,
electrical, and plumbing engineers,
designers and contractors.
Autodesk AutoCAD
 AutoCAD is computer-aided design
(CAD) software that architects,
engineers, and construction
professionals rely on to create
precise 2D and 3D drawings.
Autodesk Maya
 Autodesk Maya powerful software
that enables 3D animation, modeling,
simulation, rendering, and more. It's
robust and versatile, and many
consider it the industry standard for
animation. Many well-known feature
film studios use Maya, including Blue
Sky Studios, Framestore, and Moving
Picture Company.
