Ordering numbers up to 100,000 in

increasing and decreasing order

What I need to know?

 Numbers represent an amount or value that we are

talking about. To order number means to put them
in order from least to greatest or from greatest to
least. Number can be arranged in ascending or
descending order. Ascending or increasing order
means from least to greatest, and descending or
decreasing order means from greatest to least.
Situation

 Edwin wanted to invest for electronic gadgets

during the quarantine season. He looked for laptop
worth PhP 36 895, smartphone worth PhP 19 999
and a portable tablet worth PhP 25 675 that will
help him work from home. He planned to buy the
cheapest gadget. Which will he buy first?
Numbers can be arranged in increasing orders.

 Increasing / Ascending means to arrange the

numbers from smallest to the highest value. One
way to arrange numbers is to compare the digit of
the numbers. Start with the highest place value. If
it’s the same go the next place and compare. Let’s
try the given numbers by placing it in a place value
chart.
Edwin wants to buy the cheapest among the gadgets, meaning we
will arrange the amount from smallest to highest or increasing order.
 Therefore, Edwin will buy the smartphone first because
it’s the cheapest among the gadgets followed by the tablet
and soon is the laptop. PhP 19 999 < PhP 25
