Describing and Illustrating
Different Kinds of Angles
Whenever you look around in our surroundings,
you can see many different geometric figures. Even in
your own house, you can see different  kinds of
figures in different  angles.
4 Kinds of Angles
There are four different kinds of angles based
on their measurement. It is measured in degrees.
♦ ACUTE ANGLE
♦ RIGHT ANGLE
♦ OBTUSE ANGLE
♦ STRAIGHT ANGLE
ACUTE ANGLE
A B
♦ Angle AOB (<AOB) is
an ACUTE ANGLE that
measures less than
90º.
RIGHT ANGLE

A B ♦ A RIGHT ANGLE measures

90º.
♦ A special angle that   forms a
square corner.
♦ Angle ACB (< ACB) is a right
angle
OBTUSE ANGLE

A B
♦ An OBTUSE ANGLE
measures more than 90º
but less than 180º

♦ Angle SOP(< SOP) is an

obtuse angle
STRAIGHT ANGLE

A B ♦ A STRAIGHT ANGLE is
an angle which measures
180º

♦Angle DOE(< DOE) is a

straight angle.

REMEMBER!
 Angle – a geometric figure that is formed when two rays
meet at a common endpoint.
 Protractor – an instrument used in measuring angle.
 4 Kinds of Angles
 Acute Angle – measures less than 90º
 Right Angle - measures 90º
 Obtuse Angle - measures more than 90º but less than 180º
