Pepared by: Ms. Micah Glorice C. Tamayo

STRATEGIC THINKING

• STRATEGIC THINKING – involves the

individual’s capacity for thinking, conceptually,
imaginatively, systematically and opportunistically
with regard to the attainment of success in the
future. The process requires you to follow a pattern
to creatively address a situation and understand the
environment in which an organization is operating.
STRATEGIC THINKERS

• It employs mental processes that are conceptual

(abstractions using analogy to translate across
contexts)
• Systematic (composed of different components
with interfaces that interact to produce intended or
emergent behaviors, pattern finding and connecting
situations that are not obviously related),
STRATEGIC THINKERS

• Imaginative (creative and visual)

• Opportunistic (searching for and grasping
new information and value propositions)
• The strategic thinker applies all of these
cognitive processes in the orientation toward
future success.

SWOT ANALYSIS

Pepared by: Ms. Micah Glorice C. Tamayo

SWOT ANALYSIS

• This framework is credited to Albert

Humphrey, who tested the approach in the
1960’s and 1970’s at the Stanford Research
and Institute.
• This framework is considered as the most
powerful support for decision-making.
SWOT ANALYSIS

• SWOT ANALYSIS – (strengths, weaknesses,

opportunities and threats analysis)
• It is a framework for identifying and analyzing the
internal and external factors that can have an
impact on the viability of a project, product, place
or person.
SWOT ANALYSIS

• It is commonly by business entities, but it is

also used by non-profit organizations and to a
lesser degree, individuals for personal
assessment.
• Additionally, it can be used to assess iniatives,
products or projects.
ELEMENTS OF SWOT ANALYSIS

• Strengths- Internal attributes and resources that support a

successful outcome.
• Weaknesses- Internal attributes and resources that work
against a successful outcome.
• Opportunities- External factors that entity can capitalize on
or use to its advantage.
• Threats- External factors that could jeopardize the entity’s
success.
PEST ANALYSIS

PEST ANALYSIS

• This framework examines opportunities and

threats due to Political, Economic, Social, and
Technological forces.
• Outputs from the analysis inform strategic
planning processes and contribute to market
research.
INTUITIVE THINKING

Pepared by: Ms. Micah Glorice C. Tamayo

INTUITIVE THINKING

• is basically the kind of thinking that helps you

understand reality in the moment, without logic or
analysis.
• According to Science, Intuitive thinking happens in
a region of our brain close to the pineal gland. In
other words, it lines up with the middle of your
forehead, between your eyebrows.
INTUITIVE THINKING

• It is a quick and ready insight.

• Intuitive decision making is far more than using
common sense because it involves additional
sensors to perceive and get aware of the
information outside.
• Sometimes it is referred to as gut feeling, sixth
sense, instinct, inner voice, spiritual guide, Etc.,
INTUITIVE THINKING

• Intuitive thinking originates in the

neocortex. This is a special part of the
brain that has elements of both
hemispheres in it.
INTUITIVE THINKING
4 DIFFERENT TYPES OF INTUITIVE
THINKING

• Emotional Intuitive Thinking- This has to do

with your ability to immediately pick up on other
people personality traits or emotional states. You
can see who they are, or how they are, without
them having to say anything.
4 DIFFERENT TYPES OF INTUITIVE
THINKING

• Mental Intuitive Thinking – This is about finding

an immediate answer to a problem, without
analyzing it. It’s very common in people with jobs
that require decisions like fire fighters and bomb
technicians.
4 DIFFERENT TYPES OF INTUITIVE
THINKING

• Psychic Intuitive Thinking – This means having

the ability to choose the best path overcome a
personal difficulty, without putting much mental
effort into it. It also means being able to pick up on
social and work-related dynamics.
4 DIFFERENT TYPES OF INTUITIVE
THINKING

• Spiritual Intuitive Thinking – This has to do

with the states of “enlightenment” or “revelations”.
They’re more of an experience than fact. Buddhists
talk about this kind of intuition more than anyone
else, which has given it a mystical quality.
