Topic 1 Experimental Research Design

• Experimental research is
concerned primarily with cause
and effect relationship of the
variables.

• This design utilizes the

principle of research known as
the "method of difference".

• A variable is anything that may

assume varied numerical or
categorical values.
Topic 2 Types Of Experimental Research Design

01. True Experimental
• It contain three key features: (a) independent and dependent variables, (b) pre-
testing and post-testing, and (c) experimental and control groups.

02. Quasi-experimental
• involves the manipulation of an independent variable without the random
assignment of participants to conditions or orders of conditions.

03. Pre-experimental
• are the simplest form of research design. In a pre-experiment, either a single
group or multiple groups are observed after some agent or treatment presumed
to cause change

Topic 4 Survey Research Design

Survey research is used to gather information

01 from group of people by selecting and
studying samples chosen from a population.
SURVEY

It may be done in various ways like face to

02 face, phone call, mail and online Insert Image here

Surveys generally ask respondents to report

04 on their attitudes, opinions, perceptions, or
behavior.
Topic 5 Descriptive Research Design

It is used for portraying a population that has

01 been chosen because of some specific
characteristics.

It is also used to determine the extent or

02 direction of attitudes and behaviors.

It may be used to develop theories, justify

04 current clinical practices or identify problems.
Topic 6 Comparative Research Design

This design is used to compare and contrast representative samples

01 from two or more groups of subjects in relation to certain designated
variables that occur in normal conditions
Topic 7 Correlational Research Design

The design is used to investigate the direction

01 and magnitude of relationships among
variables in a particular population.

It is designed to study the change in one

characteristics phenomenon which or
02 corresponds to the changes in another or with
one another.
Topic 7 Evaluative Research Design

01 This design involves making judgment of

worth or value.

It can be formative (process) or summative

02 (outcome).

Evaluation research is conducted to elicit

02 useful feedback from a variety of respondents
from various fields to aid in decision making or
policy information.
