Lighting Schedule
• Lighting effect on poultry

 In case of layer:
1. Growth & Sexual maturity of pullets.
2.FCR, feed intake, egg weight, number of egg & day of
first lay.
3. Egg production & quality

 In case of Broiler:
1. Growth & weight gain.
2. Feed intake , FCR, activity, carcass damage.
Lighting Schedule
• Midnight Feeding (1-2hrs)

 Benefits: feed intke 2 to 5 gm feed/day

 Technique:
1. Typical lighting period 16 hrs
2. Dark period 8 hrs
3. If need midnight feeding 1-2 hrs light surrounding 3 hurs
dark period.

 When apply this Technique:


1. Heat Stress
2. Any time a greater feed intake is required in growing
& laying period.
