Introduction

 IoT describes the network of physical objects.

 Used for the purpose of connecting and exchanging data.
 Agriculture is one of the potential sector for economic development and employment
growth of Nepal.
What is IoT based Smart Agriculture?
 A system that is built for monitoring the crop field with the help of sensors and
automating the irrigation system.
 Improves productivity by monitoring and controlling.
Problem Statement

High Cost
Lack of Infrastructure
Lack of Security
Proper Water Management
Research Questions

 What are the role of traditional agriculture in implementing smart agriculture based
Internet of Things?
 What is the use of smart agricultural IoT solutions?
 How smart agriculture based on IoT improves the efficiency of agricultural production
and operation?
 How it solves the problem of growing shortage of growing shortage of agricultural
labors?
 How to solve the problems of infrastructure, cost and security problems?
 How smart Greenhouse and water management will enhance smart agriculture?
Reasons for choosing this research

 With the exponential growth of population, 70% more food will be

needed to produce in 2050.
 Need to enhance for yield has become critical.
 Smart Agriculture Based IoT enables growers and farmers to
reduce waste and enhance productivity.
Research Aim and Objectives

My research aim to achieve a clear view on IoT based smart Agriculture.

 To determine smart agriculture can lead the efficiency of agricultural
products or not.
 To identify the role of traditional agriculture in implementing smart
agriculture.
 To determine the problems of agricultural labors and solutions to solve
them.
 To identify how greenhouse and water management benefit smart
agriculture.
Research Methodology

 Different technique are used to meet my research objectives. Some of them are Precision Farming,
Agricultural Drones, Crop Monitoring, Smart Greenhouses, Water Management and Predictive analytics
for smart farming.
 Precision Agriculture provides a novel solutions using a systems approach for today’s agricultural issues
such as the need to balance productivity with environment concerns. This research proposes IoT for local
information data collection on precision agriculture and uses some case study for examples.
 Recent developments in IoT, comparision between traditional and smart agriculture, and the roles of IoT in
agriculture were analyzed in this research. This research were purposely inspected while the qualitative
data gathered was dissected utilizing content analysis.
 Similarly, Secondary data are collected through different research papers, websites, journals, books and
many more.
Conclusion

 Farming will play vital role in next few years in our country.
 Hence, a study on the topic of “IoT Based Smart Agriculture” will be conducted by
experimental and practical investigation using different methods and methodologies. The
main objective of the research is to find whether IoT based smart agriculture improves
the efficiency of agricultural production and operation.
