INTRODUCTION

Nuclear energy: a renewable energy resource is used in producing electrical energy by fission
reaction in nuclear reactor.
Fission reaction not only produce heat energy but , also emit harmful
radioactive radiation into the atmosphere.
So , any damage to nuclear reactors may cause such nuclear accidents and holocausts.
Nuclear accidents: the most serious hazard to human health and environment which is by the
following types of incidents.
Definition of nuclear accidents

 Types of nuclear accidents

 Nuclear testing of atoms , bomb , weapons.
 Nuclear power point accidents
 Improper disposal of nuclear wastes
 Accident during transport
 Core melt down
effects of nuclear
expolosion
.nuclear reaction will cause combustion of wood ,
plastics ,petroleum , forest etc
Large quantity of black soot will be carried out to the
stratosphere
Black soot will be absorb all UV light and will not
allow the radiations to reach the earth . therefore
cooling will result due to this cooling effect water
evaporation will reduces.
In stratosphere there wont be significant moisture to
rain out the thick soot
Damages of nuclear accidents
 it brakes chemical bond of DNA ,damage cells cause gene mutations
,birth defects etc .
environment pollution ,and destruction.
healthy defects.
psychological disorders due to loss of property ,family members
,livelihood.
ecolomic, poltical and social loss to country.
Who is responsible?

 MAJOR ACCIDENTS ARE CAUSED BY HUMAN BEINGS.

 Nuclear war: ii world war (Hiroshima and Nagasaki, japan) on 6, 9 th august 1945 due an
auto bomb explosion by USA.
 AT CHERNOBYL DISASTER: when operator lost the control of water-cooled graphite
moderated reactor during a low power test at Chernobyl in Ukraine,USSR on 26 th april
1986.
Steps taken by the government
to combat
Ban of nuclear testing.
Handled by properly trained personal.
Minimum and efficient use of radioactive isotope and
radiation therapy in medical field during testing and treatment
of diseases.
