ACTIONS OF ESD

Once Process ESD is invoked, operation of following will be ensured:

Blowing of wailing siren at the location.

Open all mechanized barrier gate for smooth evacuation of hazardous area.

Stop all process pumps, compressors & carousel machine irrespective of the mode they
had been operating at.

Close all ROVs. "Emergency" screen will pop up at all client machine connected on
IASP LAN.

Whenever an ESD is pressed, it will get logged on to system with a time stamp.
ACTION OF POWER ESD

Power ESD will get actuated automatically after 100 sec of actuation (time will be configurable) of process ESD

Switching off the power supply to all IASP equipment except the following

Sirens

Power in Fire Water P/H, DG Shed and PMCC

Security Block

Control Room and its lighting

High Mast lighting Towers in the Hazardous and non-hazardous area

Lighting at the gate

FAS

CCTV

UPS

HC Detection System

All notification devices

GAS MONITORING SYSTEM (HYDROCARBON DETECTOR)

HCD will be mapped

in GMS PLC for
operator to check the If 20% HC detected If 40% HC detected
status of same. The then safety PLC will then safety PLC will
following alarms generate the alarm. activate the hooter.
will be displayed on

DELUGE VALVE INTERLOCK SHUTDOWN SYSTEM

Actuation of Deluge Valve:

Each Deluge Valve will be actuated on any of the following events:

Low Low Pressure in Airline PT (Below 1.5 Kg/cm2).

On pressing the respective push button from any of the DV operation panel which will operate the solenoid valve on air drain line of
DV.

On giving actuation command from SCADA

Manually operating the DV by local releasing DV Air Pressure

Manually operating the DV by locally opening water line bypass valve

Actuation of DV of adjacent zone

THE ACTUATION OF DELUGE VALVE WILL INITIATE THE FOLLOWING
ACTION:

Opening of deluge valve of the affected zone as well as adjacent zones

Audio-visual alarm indicating the affected zone in the DV operation panel and in SCADA screen

Electrically operated Fire Siren, audible up to 3 K.M. from the periphery of the plant

Emergency Shutdown

Closure of all Remote Operated Valves in affected facility

Tripping of main power supply barring the emergency power

The fire water pump(s) will start based on their set pressure to supplement/ to maintain the fire water pressure in the
ring main
