Introduction to Stage Performance

1 In the form of theater, drama, musical, pentomen, dance or combination

2 May be inspired by one of the topics in the syllabus.

3 Can be in the form of narrative/symbolic that contain content of learning


that will be presented to students

4 Includes a combination of three components of art, namely, visual arts,


music and movement

Stage director
• develop the concept of production,
• explain to the actors, help the
actors create roles and characters
and monitor the overall aspects of
the show
• Leading the tasks that involves
technical works and creative
processes.

• Supervise all stage tasks such as
change of sets, change of
clothes and make up,
performers' entry and exit as
well as props used on the day

Setting/backdrop designer
• create and design the stage
background depending on the
needs of the performance

Costume Designer
• Design or determine what
costumes and materials are
appropriate to use
• Color selection is coordinated
with background / set and
lighting
• The choice of clothes gives
comfort to the actors.

Make-up artist
• Determining what form or
concept of make-up to put on the
actors that is tailored to the
character and lighting &
appropriate to the costume
• Improper makeup in terms of
color mixing will degrade the
overall ‘mood’ of the show.

Sound Organiser (Audio) / Music
• Create and determine what form
of sound effect to be used in the
performance.
• The sound effects or background
created should be in accordance
with the concept of the show.

Lighting Designer
• The lighting designer decides
on each light space: color,
blend, number of lights,
intensity and dimension of
the lamp, the angle at which
the light illuminates the
actor and the time required
to illuminate, darken or dim.

• in charge of preparing props to
be used by each performer as
required by the director and
character in the performance.
• Props also helps the actor get
the mood to act
