 A case study is an intensive study of a
person, single group, incident, organization,
or community.
 A case study is a problem or situation which

needs to be solved or improved/changed.


Two types:
1. Factual

2. Fictional (not applicable for


development activities)

 Define the purpose and precise information needs
 Decide how you are going to select the subject

 Decide how you will obtain the information

 Develop the question checklist that will only guide the


information collection, but during information collection process, always try to
collect relevant customized human touchy information out of the checklist
 Repeat the discussions with enough frequency to allow an up-to-
date picture of changing conditions (either positive or negative) of the
addressed problem situation
