INTRODUCTION OF COMMUNICATION

The term ‘communication’ is derived from the Latin word ‘communicare’ which
refers to exchanging thoughts, ideas, news, views, and any other information with another
person or people, either verbally or non verbally.

DEFINITION OF COMMUNICATION
“Communication is an exchange of facts, ideas,opinions or emotions by two or more
persons.”

Formal communication refers to a communication, which passes through predefined


channels. It is also know as official communication.
INFORMAL COMMUNICATION

Informal communication is one that does not follow any lines of


communication and moves freely in all the directions. It is also called as grapevine
communication.

Every organization has its own formal communication channels however informal
communication channels are always present and are mostly used by employees at operational
level.
