“GPS SYTEMS”
What is GPS SYSTEMS ?

GPS (Global Positioning System) is a navigation system based on

interconnected satellites that are in orbit that be able to find out a person's
position, a device called a GPS receiver is needed which functions to
receive signals sent from GPS satellites. The position is converted into a
point known as a Way-point which will later be in the form of latitude
and longitude coordinates of a person's position or a location then on the
screen on an electronic map.
What is the aim of GPS Sytems ?

The aim of this GPS is as follows:

a. MILITARY b. AS NAVIGATION
TOOLS SUCH AS
COMPASS
c. GEOGRAPHIC
INFORMATION SYSTEM

d. VECHICLE TRACKING
SYSTEM

e. EARTHQUAKE
MONITORING
What are the advantages & Disadvantages of GPS Systems ?

1. The advantages of using GPS are ;

• The vehicle navigation process is easier and faster
• Really helps to improve tracking in the military world
• Easy to identify every location on the earth's surface and know its condition in real time
• More concise and easy to use compared to conventional maps
• Increase your safety and comfort in guarding or other objects. When things go wrong, you can
easily track the position of objects that are paired with GPS tracking devices.
2. The Disadvantages of using GPS are ;
 The level of accuracy is not always precise. The coordinates of the position tracked
by the satellite have an error factor that will affect the level of GPS accuracy.
 GPS users will tend to rely on GPS when driving, so they are less aware of the
surrounding traffic conditions.
 GPS technology and services is not cheap, you have to buy a GPS and also the cost
of use.

DKI Jakarta Provincial Government Uses GPS to
Monitor School Bus Mobility to Serve Covid-19 Patients

As reported by Liputan6.com on Wednesday (5/1/2021). The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government

relies on a GPS-based system from Fox Logger. According to the Head of the School Transportation
Management Unit of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Siswanto Adi Nugroho, the presence of GPS
Fox Logger supports bus operations in several crucial matters.
"In addition to functioning to control the use of fuel and the performance of bus services according to
routes, GPS Fox Logger also helps provide data on the number of buses serving medical personnel and
Covid-19 patients," he explained as in an official statement received, Tuesday (3/8). 2021).
In addition, GPS Fox Logger also helps provide data about routes and areas where there is a high demand
for or served by school buses. Based on this data, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government also received
additional information regarding areas with the number of Covid-19 patients
As for the school bus, this tool is used to control each unit so that its mobility
runs well, efficiently, effectively, and productively. Because with the GPS Fox
Logger, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government can monitor route suitability,
kilometer accountability and fuel use, including asset security to the integration of
modern transportation systems.
"In addition to competitive prices, independently owned web servers,
domiciled in Indonesia, complete features, their services are also fast in
responding to complaints, such as repairing if there is damage," said Siswanto
revealing the reason for choosing the Fox Logger GPS service.
