Etiquettes on Social Media

These can be divided as under:

Etiquettes while using Social Media

Etiquettes after using Social Media

Etiquettes in interpersonal relationships with those sharing

the social media relationships with you
Etiquettes while using
Social Media
 The Language used should be soft and positive
 Twitter has the worst language usage communities. Restrain
from using abusive language
 Never pass indecent comment on photos or posts of opposite sex
 There are various people on the social media just as they are in
the society. Beware from nefarious elements who can hack your
account and post abusive material on your account
 Don't post about yourself in FB 24/7 - Try not to make every
update about you and you alone. Try not to troll too frequently
for compliments or sympathy.
 Be responsive - If someone you know follows you, follow him
back; if someone tweets something nice about you, favorite it.
 Restrain more use of hashtags in Instagram - A hashtag can
provide a funny or interesting interpretation for your photo
viewers. More is not merrier so don’t overuse it
Etiquettes while using
Social Media
 Don't take screenshots of other people's snaps - Creating permanent
evidence violates the spirit of the medium. Folks using the app mean for
their snaps to be transitory, and you should respect that intention.

 Be careful who you friend - don't automatically trust friend requests

from strangers.

 Too much passive use of social media – just browsing posts – can be
unhealthy and has been linked to feelings of envy, inadequacy and less
satisfaction with life. Studies have even suggested that it can lead to
depression, anxiety and sleep deprivation

 When you use social networking sites, you are posting personal

information. Once information is posted online, it's no longer private
and can fall into the wrong hands. The more you post, the more
vulnerable you become to those who may wish to harm you.
Etiquettes after using
Social Media
 You may receive comments from your friends or
followers on the social media.

 Not all the comments praise you. Some may criticize

you, some may be offending you. But if you lose your
calm, your opponents win the game.

 Sometimes the Best Answer is No Answer !!!!

Etiquettes in Interpersonal
Relationships
Never Discuss Social Media
Posts with any person when
He/She is with his/her family
members or unknown
persons.

The Social Media has given

us outreach to establish
relationships but not to
exploit it.
