Introduction

• Smart cities integrate multiple mobile or web solutions to

build a comfortable human habitation. One of these solutions
is to provide an environment friendly, efficient and effective
garbage management system. The proposed web-based
garbage management system aims at solving several problems
faced by the citizens in disposal of the garbage collected each
day.
• Features provided by the proposed system are as follows: The
administrator will be notified by the user when the dust bins
are filled completely. The notified issues will be viewed either
in a list view or in a map view.
Problem Statement

• The current garbage collection system includes routine

garbage trucks doing rounds daily or weekly with irregular
timings, also which doesn’t cover every zone of the city and is
a completely inefficient use of government resources.
• The proposed system includes mainly collection and disposal
of garbage.
• The issue notified by the GSM will be collected and stored in
database. Based on the data collected, garbage trucks can be
given routes generated through various algorithms and google
maps.
Objectives

The objectives of the proposed project are to:

• Congregate and conveyance the garbage in a timely manner.
• Notify the administrator as soon as bins are about to fill up.
• Provide administrator a map view of located bins from where
garbage needs to be collected and conveyance of the same to
the disposal area.
Methodology

• In the proposed project ‘‘The Congregation and Conveyance

of Garbage using API” consists of three main steps: level
detection, GSM communication with server and locating and
Conveyance of Garbage.
• In general, the system works as follows: The Ultra sonic
sensors monitor the level of garbage in the bin and sends the
information to Arduino. Next, the GSM communicates with
the server sending the notification and the data is stored in
database. After that, based on the information from database
location is located.
• Finally, the garbage is collected and disposed.

system is depicted below

proposed system is depicted as below
Conclusion and Future Work
• In the proposed work, an integration system of APIs, IoT, GSM,
Ultrasonic Sensor is introduced for efficient garbage collection.
Future work focuses on implementation of the proposed system
which avoids overflowing of garbage from the container in
residential area. The system will automatically monitor the
garbage level and send the information to garbage collection
truck. The technologies which will be used in the proposed
system are good enough to ensure timely monitoring and
collection of waste thereby provides healthy environment. The
limitations of this proposed work is that if any component in the
system is down or failed it will affect the whole system which
requires a timely and proper maintenance. As a future scope we
can apply machine Learning to the data stored in the database to
predict the accurate filling of wastebins
