SETTING GOALS
PRIORITIZE YOUR TIME

Identify how you are currently spending

your time.

Evaluate if there are tasks you need to

cut back to save time for other
commitments.
UNDERSTAND WHY DO WE
WASTE TIME?
● Everyone struggles with time,
which is okay but do not let bad
habits be a lifestyle.
● Common reasons:
○ When we feel overwhelmed
○ Too much pressure
○ Dealing with the unknown
○ Less structure
BALANCING
DISTRACTIONS
Distraction shows up differently for every person. Identify what are your biggest
distractions and have two strategies to navigate them.

a. Phone & social media

i. Do your best to avoid being on your phone for hours when you wake
up in the morning
ii. When you do schoolwork, keep your phone at a distance or in a
different location where you do not see it.

b. Watching TV/Netflix, etc.

i. When you start your day, try to accomplish your hardest TASKS first
before watching TV. Be mindful it is tough to walk away from doing
things we love to do.

c. Spending time with others

i. if studying with others motivates you, consider studying with a
classmate instead of your friends or folks that will distract you.
Schedule everything you
have to do and give it a
date & time.

Stay committed to your planner.

○ A daily to-do lists

● What to include

● Use the list to analyze what is important

○ Categorize to-do list by classes, work
projects & personal life
○ Rank your task based on urgency
● Change the mindset of “multitasker”
to “maximizer.”

● Are there any 2 - 3 tasks

that can be accomplished
MAXIMIZE at the same time?
YOUR ● For example:
TIME ○ Making chicken in the oven,
doing laundry & folding
washed clothes
○ Watching your favorite tv
show & organizing your binder
