INTRODUCTION
• Healthy and balanced nutrition is an
important part of a child's life.

Accident Issues
● Among those that always happen to children
⚪ In case of fire/ burns
● light, lighter, radiator, gas, hot drink, kettle, iron, hot water in bathroom, cooker etc

● Open window, stairs, highchair, pushchair, climbing frames
⚪ Choking or drowning
● Pillows (babies), games with ropes, plastic bag, nuts, games with ‘loose parts’, games
without safety signs etc

● Medicines, detergent, garbage bin
⚪ Break (bones) or serious injuries
● Scissor, knife, sharp edges, glass window/ door

WHAT IS NUTRITION
What is Food?
► Growing children are more active and curious (so they need more energy and
nutritious food)
► Make eating nutritious food as a routine to ensure the growth in health and
fitness by feeding them:
•Own safety
• Requirements
• Policy
• Protection
● Safety policy has to be established to guide teachers on how to act in the risk of accidents,
guarantee the protection and the safety of the children, as well as emphasizing the
importance of children safety in childcare/ preschool.
● The safety policy must include:
- Environment safety
- Accident prevention management
- Safety plan
- The impact of teachers/ guardians
● The safety policy has to be planned by taking into account the children development progress,
and the environment of childcare institutions.
CONCLUSIONS
❑Children growing up need to be helped
him grow with the selection of
appropriate food.
❑Although the necessary nutrients just
like adults, but they require different
quantities and certainly more than just a
glass of milk a day.
❑Source nutrients they need in order to
guide the preparation of their menu
