Aratiles (Muntingia

Calabura) as an
Alternative Bioethanol
in a Disinfectant spray
Statement of the problem:
The study aims to prove that Aratiles (Muntingia Calabura)
Bioethanol as an alternative Ethanol ingredient in making an
Ethanol-based disinfectant. Specifically, the researchers intended
to attain the following:
Determine the effectiveness of the Aratiles (Muntingia
Calabura) bioethanol disinfectant to the skin.
Identify if the finished disinfectant can kill germs and certain
Bacteria.
To fulfil our original motive which is the cause of the study .
Hypothesis:
H0: Aratiles (Muntingia Calabura) Bioethanol can be an
effective alternative Ethanol in an Ethanol-based disinfectant

HA: Aratiles (Muntingia Calabura) Bioethanol cannot be an

effective alternative Ethanol in an Ethanol-based disinfectant
Variables:
Independent Variable: The ratio of the pulverized Aratiles
(Muntingia Calabura) extract to water.

Dependent Variable: Amount of Ethanol present from the

Aratiles (Muntingia Calabura) Bioethanol.
Methodology
Materials: (Ingredients and Tools)
• 150g of Aratiles (Muntingia Calabura) fruit
• distilled water
• 2g of yeast
• ½ teaspoon hydrogen peroxide
• 30-45 drops essential oil as desired (optional)
• 500ml+ glass bottle/s with a bottle Airlock
