Relationship between
Accommodations and Assistive Technology

Accommodations are any device, service, or modification created to modify a personal to


accomplish his/her goals. Assistive technology are any device or product that allows a
personal to perform an activity with larger independence.The most requested
accommodation within the work is helpful technology like tailored computers, hearing
aids, chair ramps, oral communication devices, Braille note taking computers, etc. In
general, requests for helpful technology ar seen as affordable if no undue burden is
concerned.
The two interdependent aspects that make up AT

● Devices- Devices are equipment or technology that facilitate work, communication,


and mobility.
● Services- Services are the supports or services necessary to use the devices properly.
Based on the information in this scenario, consider whether Jade needs
remediation or compensation. Justify your answer.

I believe that compensation would best suite jades specific learning needs. Jades
has difficulty processing information; retaining and recalling information; and
selecting, monitoring, and using strategies. Providing her with other options
when completing certain tasks will help her improve her performance by making
