• Shock mounted

• In harness reach
• Within Temperature and Moisture range
• Don’t forget ground strap
• 1m max CAN-length to main trunk if shielded (PS)
• 3m max CAN-length to main trunk if not shielded (EM)

• External Antenna mounted horizontally
• Internal Antenna (if PL641i) => mount radio horizontally
• No metallic cover
• 0.5m away from other antenna (min)
• Within Temperature & Moisture range

• Total coax antenna extension < 4.5m
• Coaxial radius > 50mm

• Switch back to Commadapter 2 or 3 (CAN and CDL)
• Check individually for proper CAN and CDL comm.
• Check for R-term input (engine running): CAN or 403 wire
• Finally Set up the ‘Product Id’ in Configuration screen

8.c. Finally configure the ‘Product Id’ in ET Config screen


either for the A5N2 (Elite) or for the Radio (Pro)

•The Telematics ‘Product ID’ default is “CAT00000” .


•If changed, the PLE601 (Elite) or the PL6x1 (Pro)
will automatically generate a new registration message.
•Along with the new registration message,
the equipment will be subscribed in the User Interface
based of the entered ‘Product ID’.

Modbus
• Modbus® is an openly published serial communications
protocol developed by Modbus with widespread use in
industry. This protocol is commonly used over RS-232, RS-
485, and Modbus TCP/IP networks. The RS-232, and RS-
485 version is a master/slave protocol, whereas the
TCP/IP version is a peer-to-peer protocol. The strengths of
this protocol are simplicity and low implementation cost.

• It has become an industry standard method for the transfer


of discrete/analog I/O information and register data
between industrial control and monitoring devices (PLC)

Modbus TCP/IP Ethernet connection 50

1. Connect Ethernet converter 419-5974 Adapter


to the 6-pin connector (port #3) on the Network Manager
2. Connect the Ethernet cable between Port #3 and your laptop
3. ‘Detect Ethernet Devices’ & open up PL-Interface (http://165.26.78.1/)
then click “Industrial Bus” tab.
4. Click the table to edit the listening ports for Modbus TCP.

Dual Antenna Installation (See REHS8850)


1. Install the new radio
2. Connect the GPS antenna to your preferred radio
(recommended is to the Sat Radio)
3. Connect the Cell antenna coax (brown) to Cell Radio
4. Connect the Sat antenna coax (white) to Sat Radio
5. Connect the PC to your PLE-webpage / Settings &
6. Select “GPS Configuration” * screen to
