While 2/3 of adults ages 65 and older have internet access, and roughly half
(51%) have broadband access…

Only 26% say they feel very confident when using computers,
smartphones, or other electronic devices to do the things they need
to do online…

And 48% need someone else to set it

How to Help the
Cause
When the Coronavirus Pandemic began many of
these people were cut off from the outside world
because they either didn’t have access to
electronic devices, or they didn’t know how to
use them.
Our organization will provide devices and
resources to those in need. We would like to
partner with hardware and software companies
that are willing to donate devices for us to
distribute. We would also like to team up with
ASU and create an internship program for
students majoring in different fields to assist in
programing devices, creating easy to follow
procedures, and helping educate those in need
of our services.
Logistics
• Engage with laptop and tablet vendors to donate materials for configuration with the
videoconferencing software tools.

• Our missions objectives will be carried out through an internship program offered to ASU
students majoring in: business communication, communication, communication studies,
education studies, English, mass communications and media studies, multimedia writing
and technical communication, psychology, technical communication and technical
entrepreneurship, and management. Other majors may apply.

• Interns will sign a one year contract starting the 3rd week in May. Interns will work 40 hours
a week until September. Starting then, they will move to part time work until May of the next
year.
Logistics (cont.)
• From May to September, the interns will be working as a team, remotely, to come up with
a detailed walkthrough and FAQ for our target audience.

• From September to May the interns will fulfill call center hours. Our target audience can
call a helpline for questions, troubleshooting, or walkthroughs during specific hours.

• After 1 year, juniors are given the option to resign. Recruiting will begin for new
candidates. The summer will be spent making revisions to walkthroughs and FAQs due to
flaws, technology advancement, etc. The rest of the year will be spent fulfilling call center
hours.
