Introduction To International Understanding

INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING
or internationalism is a innate feeling that
an individual is not only a member of
his/her own country, but also a member of
the world as well. It is none less than a
sense of world citizenship which enables
individuals to hold a global perspective
instead of local or national viewpoints.

We all live in a community and are the

same being. Yet, we have differences
amongst ourselves in terms of race,
religion, culture, etcetera. To overcome
these petty barriers of malice and hate, one

Feeling That The Individual Is Not Only A Member Of His State,
But Also A Citizen Of The World.

Good Neighbours, To Take Effective Measures For The Removal
Of Areas Of Differences And To Develop Friendly Relations
Among Nations”. The Most Important Elements Of
Internationalism Are DIPLOMACY, PACIFISM AND UNITY.

Role Of Education In International
Understanding
Education For International Understanding Is Essentially
For Peace, Love & Co-operative Living. This Is An
Education Based On The Idea Of Mankind. This Kind Of
Education Promotes “Understanding, Tolerance And
Friendship Among All Nations, Racial Or Religious
Groups”.
We Can Make Our World Safe And Peaceful Only By

Understanding Is The Vital Need Of The Present
Generation For The Following Chief Reason: 1) To
Counteract Wrong Emphasis On “My Country, Right Or

Democratic Ideals. 4) To Educate For Human Prosperity.

Understanding In India
• 1. India Is One Of The Country Where Caste System Is Still Prevalent.
This System Ensures Underprivileged People Get Certain Rights .
However, Other People Who Are Ineligible For Caste Reservations (So
Called General Category) Are Devoid Of Such Rights. If India Can’t
Give All Of Its People These Rights, Then International Understanding Is
Far From Infinity.
• 2. India Is The World’s Most Diverse Country With Many Religions,
Languages, Food And Culture. India Is Quite Integrated Since Its
Independence. But, The Rivalry Among Hindus And Muslims Is Still
Prevalent And Due To This, There Is A Less Respect And Cooperation In
The Society.
• 3. India Have 5 Most Prestigious National Posts – Indian Administrative
Service [IAS], Foreign Service[IFS], Police ServicE [IPS], Forest Service
[IFoS] And Engineering Service [IES]. Amongst These, Indian People
Consider IAS To Be The Most Prestigious And I Have No Opposing To
Them. But, IFS Is Not Given Proper Recognition Which Must Be Given.
IFS is Indian Foreign Service i.e post that lookouts matters of diplomacy.
There is actually a void of Diplomats in the country which results in
ineffective communication amongst countries. 7
STEPS TAKEN BY GOVERNMENT TO
IMPROVE THE SCENARIO IN INDIA
1. The Indian Government is constantly trying to improve internal
relationships between all religions and cultures.
2. Statue of Unity was built to convey to the world the message that
“India is United”.

3. The Young Generations are encouraged to join the Indian Foreign

Service by various government induced schemes.
4. Promoting women welfare by schemes like “Beti Bachao, Beti
Padhao” has encouraged women’s to be part of Indian
Government Posts and has ensured a balance between men and
women workforce,

5. Government is extending is support to export Covid vaccines to

many countries. Also, India is now the World’s Largest Vaccine
producer, an excellent feat which promotes India Internationally.
6. India is now a faithful and most reliable ally of United States of
America, worlds largest so-called superpower in military and
economic perspectives. There is a joint diplomacy between the
two which marks a great feat.
7. In these pandemic times, the Indian Government has launched
“Make in India” motion to make India the Hub of exporting many
goods.

new education policy NEP, 2020

 My Views On International Understanding In India

Each and every individual in this world have their personal opinion on a
particular matter. Similarly, I too have my views on this topic which are as
follows:

Today, we live in a world where poor is getting poorer and richer is getting richer. Various destructive weapons are being invented
daily with an increased level of danger. World is shifting towards stronger, but terrifying nuclear energy. Terrorism is slowly
consuming the world. People have started to realize this but, none of them are ready to take responsibility to make this world a
better place. Education is now not a source of knowledge and inspiration, but is only a mere competition where the high scorers
get all privileges and the average scorer is left to suffer the worst. This level of hierarchy is more visible in India than any other
country. Due to this, India’s impact for internationalism is not up to the mark and there’s an urgent need for internationalism as
well as intra-nationalism.
It will now be an herculean task for India to be an Internationalist, but I see potential in the current Government of India. My
suggestion to promote internationalism are here as follows:
1. The Government must continue with their induced schemes and policies. But it must as well introduce a new policy which I
thought and planned upon –``National India to International India Policy”. This policy will include reduced caste reservations,
promotion of Indian foreign services, removing 10 subject education system and replacing it with 5 subject student-choice
education, encouraging young generations to work in India and work for India, digitalization in all aspects, providing farmers with
all the revenue possible and most importantly – Increased indigenous mass production of all goods and its exportation will ensure
India a strong economy and promise Internationalization in all aspects. Compulsorily and whatever be the job, a fixed cap on
salary of all individuals (Minimum Rs. 50000 and maximum Rs. 3 lakhs per month) and high rates of taxation for salary more
than 2 lakhs will ensure equality amongst all.
This will surely take India to its peak of Diplomacy and International Understanding and also inspire all other countries to
completely internationalize themselves. If all countries later on agree(Probably after 10-15 years), then all can also have a
common currency which ensures stable market growths and equality in all respects.

 CONCLUSION
In A Nutshell, The World Is Swinging Between Two Conflicting Poles—peace Or
War. On One Side There Gleams The Distant Beacon Of Hope For Peace, While
On The Other, Dark Clouds Of War Hover On The Horizon.
As Such In A World Of Tension, Living Under The Shadow Of Nuclear Holocaust,
If Man Has To Survive, He Will Have To Fight With The Evils Of The World And
With The Forces Of Destruction And War. As Such There Is The Need Of
International Understanding. The World Is Full Of ‘Ideologies’. If We Want To
Live In A World Free From War And Destruction, We Will Have To Break The
Barriers Of ‘Ideologies’ And ‘Isms’. We Will Have To Accept The Principle Of
Peaceful Coexistence. We Will Have To Strive For International Understanding,
For A World Authority Under Which All The Nations Of The World Will Be
Undoubtedly Free To Change Their Course Of Action According To Their
Genuine Deed Without Any Consideration Of Politi­cal Ideologies. To conclude,
here’s a famous quote by a renowned Actress – Angelina Jolie:

“ If you don’t get out of the box you’ve been raised in , you
won’t understand how much bigger the world is!
