the city life .even after the
Industrialization, most of the Indian
population is engaged in
agriculture .there are other people in rural
India who earns their bread by various
arts, handicrafts and Tourism.Tourism in
India gives employment and business
opportunities to many people who are
employed in rural sector
◦ Rural tourism focuses on actively
participating in rural lifestyle.it
can be a variant of Ecotourism.
Many villages can facilitate
tourism because many villagers
are hospitable and eager to
welcome visitors. Agriculture is
becoming highly mechanized and
therefore, requires less manual
labor.
DEFINATION:

◦ Any form of tourism that showcases the rural


life, art ,culture and heritage at rural locations
thereby benefiting the local community
economically and socially as well as enabling
the connection between the localites and
tourists for more enriching experience can be
coined as Rural Tourism.

◦ Channapatna,(land of toys) is located 60 km from bangalore,Karnataka ,on bangalore-mysore
highway ,channapatna toys are particular form of wooden toys that are manufactured in the
town of channapatna in rural district of Karnataka state
STORY OF CHANNAPATNA:
◦ The story of channapatna ,is traced from the back time of tipu
sultan.tipu sultan had encouraged the Persians to come to india to
share the knowledge to the artisans the art of making wooden toys
◦ World famous for its eponymous toys,channapatna is great
place to visit ,it is a eye feast for tourists ,to explore the
traditions ,cultures of channapatna
◦ This small town has few factories and few workshops
where one can see crafts man at work
◦ People from various countries visit this place ,to catch up
the beauty of the place as well it generates income for the
localites ,as they need shelter and food to survive
◦ This place is known for its scenic surroundings but it has
become more popular for its eye- catching wooden toys
and hence called as city of toys
◦ Manufacturing and twisting of raw silk and coconut is a
major product of channapatnam
◦ It is also famous for toy manufacturing industries,toy
shops and religious visits
