MELC 19-20

BY: LOUIE LEONARDO, DEITHER BALMES

OBJECTIVES

• Determine the principles of

stoichiometry.

• To determine the amounts (volume,

number of moles, or mass) of gaseous
reactants and products.

• To determine the rate of gas effusion

with molar mass Activate Wind.
How to calculate stoichiometry?

• Balance the equation.

• Convert units of a given substance to

moles.

• Using the mole ratio, calculate the moles

of substance yielded by the reaction.

• Convert moles of wanted substance to

desired units.

MELC 20

RELATE THE RATE OF GAS EFFUSION WITH MOLAR MASS

Objectives :

- Define the graham’s law

- Relate the rate of gas effusion with molar mass

What is Graham’s Law?

- Graham’s Law is a rate of effusion for a gas is inversely proportional to the square root of
its molar mass.

What is Diffusion?

- Diffusion means the movement of one material through another high concentration to
low concentration.

Effusion

- Effusion has to do with how fast a gas can escape from a hole .
