The key to providing the information is to ensure that subordinates

Keep Your Subordinates Informed

regulations affecting their salaries, promotions, rights, and
other non-confidential matters.
Develop a Sense of Responsibility in Your Subordinates

Leaders should encourage employees to develop positive character traits to

help them perform their jobs more effectively.
The leaders and subordinates develop mutual trust and respect by assigning
tasks and delegating authority to carry out those tasks.
When you properly delegate authority to your subordinate, you demonstrate
trust in them and encourage them to take on more responsibilities.
Use the chain of command to get things done. Give specific, thought-
provoking instructions. To your superiors, say what to do, not how to do it.
Even if ultimate responsibility remains yours, hold them accountable for the
results. Give them enough authority to finish the job.
Ensure that Tasks are Understood, Supervised, and Accomplishe
d

Before your subordinates begin a job, let them have the opportunity to ask
questions or seek advice. Supervision is paramount.
You cannot know if the assigned task is done correctly without
supervision.
Subordinates view over-supervision as abuse and effectively halt their
initiative.
Let subordinates use their strategies and then test their progress regularly.
Ensure that an order is required before the order is issued. Use the chain of
command established. Give clear, concise, and constructive orders through
research and practice.
Ensure that Tasks are Understood, Supervised, and Accomplishe
d

Encourage subordinates to ask questions about anything in

your instructions and directives they do not understand.
If there is any doubt or ambiguity about the mission or
task to be completed, Ask your subordinates.
Keep an eye on how your orders are being carried out and
make sure your subordinates have the resources they need to
complete the task or assignment.
Change up the monitoring schedule and the focus of your
inspections. Use caution and a supervisory mindset.
Train as a Team

Subordinates should be trained and developed, challenged and

checked, corrected, and encouraged every waking hour, with the
goal of perfection and teamwork.
The appearance, attitude, self-improvement, and, most
importantly, subordinates' performance must be evaluated.
Train for a purpose and emphasize the importance of teamwork.
You must ensure that your subordinates work together as a
team.
Employ Your Command In Accordance With Its Capabilities

 The assigned role will likely fail if the subordinate is not prepared to
perform it. Failures lower your organization's morale and self-esteem.
 Seek out complex tasks for your subordinates, but make sure the team
is prepared and capable of completing them.
 Volunteering to be a part of a team for activities that they cannot
complete is not a good idea. The organization will not only fail,
but your subordinates will think you are out of personal
glory.
Employ Your Command In Accordance With Its Capabilities

Keep yourself informed about the team's operational efficiency.

Ascertain that subordinates are given reasonable responsibilities.
In an emergency, do not be afraid to ask for the best.
Examine all of the tasks you have been given. If your current
resources are insufficient, notify your immediate supervisor and
request assistance.
Assign equal responsibilities to your subordinates.
Before you seek assistance, make full use of your unit's
capabilities.
