Early Childhood
• Early childhood (3 to 6 years) is a time of
rapid- physical, cognitive, socio-
emotional, and language development of
a child
• During this stage ,children are highly
influenced by the environment and the
people that surround them.it is very
important from all aspects of
development.

• Imitation(copying others)

• Emotional instability(fear of dark, animals etc.)
• Famous for negative behavior(No! for everything)

the chin becomes more
pronounced and the neck
elongates, the body become cone-
shaped.
Physical Development

Body Build at the first time in early childhood.


Bones became rigid at different part of the body
Muscles became larger and stronger
During the first four to six months of early childhood,
the last four baby teeth ,the back molars erupt. The last
half years of early childhood ,the baby teeth begin to be
replaced by permanent teeth
Cognitive Development

• Vocabulary development depends on environment.


• A happy home and nursery school condition helps for
proper mental development.
• Brain has reached 80% of its total development.
Cognitive Development
• Trying to teach a child at this age group are too
difficult .
• Development of intelligence is the development of
thinking through the stages of enumeration ,
description and interpretation
Moral Development

• Moral development in early childhood is at a low level.


• Young children develop or learn moral behavior in
specific situation
• Children may be told not to do
something one day but, by next
day or even the day after that,
they may have forgotten what they
were told not to do.
• In this stage ,Children obey rules automatically, without
using reason or judgment.
Emotional Development

• Emotions are especially intense during early childhood

• This is a crucial stage in development because at this time


basic social attitudes and patterns of social behavior are
established
