Setup Windows Server 2008R2

Initial Configuration Requirement


1 Change the Computer Name to Server
1. Click Start Button

2. Select Computer then right click Properties

6. Then Click ok.

9. Click Restart Now

Note: Computer will restart to apply the changes of the


new settings.
Expected Result after changing the computer
1 to Server
1. Click Start Button

2. Select Computer then right click Properties

3. Click Change Settings


√ Correct
4. Click Change

5. Change Computer name to SERVER

6. Then Click Ok.

7. And Click Ok again.

8. Click Close

9. Click Restart Now

Note: Computer will restart to apply the changes of the


new settings.

1. Click Start Button

2. Select Run

1. Click Start Button

2. Select Run

3. At Run Dialog Box Input ncpa.cpl then click OK

2. Select Run

3. At Run Dialog Box Input ncpa.cpl then click OK

4. Network Connections window appear.

1. Click Start Button

2. Select Run

3. At Run Dialog Box Input ncpa.cpl then click OK

4. Network Connections window appear

5. Select Local Area Connection Network then right


click and select Properties

5. Select Local Area Connection Network then right


click and select Properties

6. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 then click

5. Select Local Area Connection Network then right


click and select Properties

6. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 then click

7. Select Use the Following IP Address

8. Input the following Settings.

 IP address set to 192.168.0.2

 Subnet mask set to 255.255.255.0

 Default gateway set to 192.168.0.1

 Preferred DNS Server set to 192.168.0.2

After that click OK

8. Entered the following Settings.

IP address set to 192.168.0.2

Subnet mask set to 255.255.255.0

Default gateway set to 192.168.0.1

Preferred DNS Server set to 192.168.0.2

9. After that click OK


2 Set Windows Server 2008R2 IP Address
8. Entered the following Settings.

IP address set to 192.168.0.2

Subnet mask set to 255.255.255.0

Default gateway set to 192.168.0.1

Preferred DNS Server set to 192.168.0.2

9. After that click OK

10. Click Close


2 Set Windows Server 2008R2 IP Address
8. Entered the following Settings.

IP address set to 192.168.0.2

Subnet mask set to 255.255.255.0

Default gateway set to 192.168.0.1

Preferred DNS Server set to 192.168.0.2

9. After that click OK

10. Click Close

11. Click Close to terminate the Network Connections


window.
2 Set Windows Server 2008R2 IP Address
8. Entered the following Settings.

IP address set to 192.168.0.2

Subnet mask set to 255.255.255.0

Default gateway set to 192.168.0.1

Preferred DNS Server set to 192.168.0.2

9. After that click OK

10. Click Close

11. Click Close to terminate the Network Connections


window.
