Guide for NCII Assessment (Summative)

COC 1
1. Disassemble System unit
2. Assemble System Unit
3. After assembling system unit, turn it on and go to BIOS Setting and navigate to Sata Configuration.
4. Create bootable device (preferably windows 7) using WintoFlash boot installer.
5. Attempt to reformat the pc showing the finish bootable device (do not actually reformat the pc).

COC 2
1. Create internet cable connection (UTP Cable) preferably straight through using the color coding
T-568A(White Green, Green, white orange, blue,white blue,orange,white brown and brown).
2. Use the UTP cable to enter routing settings.
3. Broadcast your own wireless connection.
4. Connect to the Wireless connection you have made.
5. Once connected, create adhoc.
6. The other PC(laptop) will connect to the adhoc.
7. The PC(laptop) that made the adhoc will create a homegroup and provide password of it.
8. The other PC(laptop) will join the homegroup created.
9. Once the two PC(Laptop) are connected, the one who created homegroup will make a folder and put a
documents inside of it to be accessed by the other laptop.
10. Then the other laptop will try to make changes on the documents and must be seen on the other PC.
COC 3
1. If you have already bootable flash drive of windows server 2008R2, then install windows server 2008R2
if not then you must make a bootable flash drive of Windows server 2008 R2.
2. During installation, select Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise installation.
3. You must delete all allocated space and create two partition and select partition 2 then next.
4. Right after the installation, perform the initial configuration of the Windows server.
5. These are the Set time Zone (Select Taipe), configure network (set the IP address into static 192.168.1.5,
subnet mask 255.255.255.0, Default gateway 192.168.1.1,), remote desktop (allow remote desktop
connection and select the second options), then check the checkbox stating do not show this on the next
logon.
6. Go to start menu, type dcpromo then follow the steps in installing it.
7. During the installation, select Create new domain on the forest, then later select Windows Server 2008
R2. Then next and next…etc.
8. Go to Server manager, expand Roles, expand Active directory domain services, expand Active directory
users and computer, double click on the domain (chs.com) then right click on it then new then
OU(Organizational Unit) and name it as you like.
9. Then right after the making of OU, right click on it and select NEW then USER and provide
firstname,lastname and logon name (BE SURE TO REMEMBER THE LOGON NAME) then provide
password preferably “Aina_12345” for faster creation.
10. Then go to desktop, create folder and name it as you like. Then right click on in it and go to properties
then navigate to SHARING then click SHARE then share it to EVERYONE then make its permission into
read/write. Then SHARE and DONE. Then copy the NETWORK PATH OF THE SHARED FOLDER.
11. Go to start menu then administrative tools then locate Group Policy management.
12. Then locate the OU(Organizational Unit) that you have made. Right click on it and select CREATE GPO IN
THIS DOMAIN AND LINK IT HERE.
13. Then name it as you like. Right after that, right click on it and select EDIT.
14. Then on USER CONFIGURATION, expand POLICIES, then WINDOWS SETTINGS, then FOLDER
REDIRECTION then on DESKTOP right on it and select PROPERTIES.
15. On TARGET panel, make it BASIC-Redirect everyone’s folder on the same location.
16. On the ROOT PATH, paste the network path of the shared folder that you have copied. Then click apply
(do not click OK button yet)
17. On the SETTINGS panel, uncheck the first option then check the third option then click apply then click
OK button.
18. The same process on the DOCUMENTS.
19. Then Go to CLIENT PC. Then make its IP address into static. To do that, go to NETWORK AND SHARING
CENTER and click LOCAL AREA NETWORK. Then go to properties then double click on the Internet
Protocol Version 4 then click on Use the Following IP Address. Set IP Address to 192.168.1.6 then set
Subnetmask to 255.255.255.0, set default gateway to 192.168.1.1, then click on the USE THE
FOLLOWING DNS SERVER ADDRESSESS then set it with the IP ADRESS of the server which is 192.168.1.5
then click OK then OK then CLOSE.
20. Go to Start Menu then type CMD then type ping the server by typing “ping 192.168.1.5”. If it reply, then
the server and the client communicated with each other and you are good to join the client to the server.
21. Go to My computer, right click on it and select properties.
22. Then click on Change Settings then click on the CHANGE button, then click on Domain and type the
domain name, in our case our domain name is “chs.com”. Then logon panel will show up.
23. Type “administrator” then provide the password of the server not the password of the user.
24. Then welcome message will show up then click OK, then close then click on RESTART LATER.
25. After joining the client to the domain, you need to switch to the user account you have created in the
server.
26. Switch to the user through CTRL + ALT + DELETE. Then select SWITCH USER. Now, provide the user name
and password you have created on the server.
27. Right after switching to the user, go to start menu then type open CMD then type “gpupdate/force” then
hit enter. Wait until it says that it has successfully updated the policy setting and if it ask to log off then
type “Y or y” then hit enter. Otherwise if it does not ask to log off, you must manually log it off.
28. Right after you log off and loging in, on the desktop create the folder and name it as you like. After
creating the folder, open it and put text document inside on it and put text within the text document.
Right after that, go to the documents and create also a folder inside on it. Put text documents and text
with it.
29. Now go back to the server and see if the changes you made with the client can be seen in the server. If
it does not show up the changes, then you must perform again on creating GPO steps.
30. After those things you are good to go to access your server remotely. To perform this, go to client pc
then on start menu, type “Remote Desktop”. Remote Desktop login Panel will show up. Type the IP
ADDRESS of the server, in our case which is 192.168.1.5.
31. Then there will be a notification saying that you connection to the unsafe connection. Just click on yes
then wait until it will successfully access the server remotely.
