Video surveillance tools
 The most common surveillance technology is CCTV
 This can be used to prevent misbehaviour and Safety reasons
 Monitors whether the employees are at work station
 While using CCTV in the organization
 Ensure that it does not directly capture employees computer screen (privacy)
 Focus on helping identify any visible misbehaviour or security issues in workplace
 Only install CCTV cameras in common work place

Key cards and Biometrics Terminals


Key cards
 Mainly to protect trade secrets
 Each card is linked to its owner and you can set individual security settings for each employee
 To restrict employees from accessing unauthorized locations within the office
 Can be used to monitor employee attendance and track the physical location
Biometric Terminals
 These systems either have finger print or iris scanners on doors that lead to restricted areas
 Less susceptible to data breaches and theft (better than key cards )
 Only to keep employees out of restricted area
GPS Tracking
 To monitor employees who are out on the field like delivery drivers
 Fit a tracker on a vehicle to see its location in real time
 Let employees know that they are being tracked
Network and Email Monitoring
Network monitoring:
 Analyzing all the incoming and outgoing traffic from the office network
 Monitor maliciou s programs infected the workstation and even anusual internet usage in the organization
 Check if employees are accessing unproductive sites like socia l media during work
Not effective for remote workforce
Email monitoring :woks station emails ->for official or work related purposes

 Discourage use of work email accounts for personal purpose like sending private messages
 Use email filters to block non –work emails from reaching staff inboxes
