 The Chhattisgarh Sanskriti is
famous for the several
handicrafts and different tribal
festivals in the different
regions of Chhattisgarh.
 The different categories of Chhattisgarh handicraft items which represent the
culture of Chhattisgarh are:
•Paintings
•Wood Carving
•Bamboo Work
•Cotton Fabrics
 The raw material which is utilised for making the handicrafts is sourced entirely
from the surrounding environment.
 The most important ones are dhokra and wrought iron, which can be easily
obtained from recycled scrap, wood and sisal from the neighbouring forests and
marshes, and terracotta from the riverbeds.
 The tourists can easily see the reflection of the cultural legacy of the people in
the crafts made by them in the exquisite shapes and forms of the handicrafts.
 These artisans get the frequent references from the local mythology, rituals,
religion and folklore. The unique quality of rawness in the finish adds to the rustic
appeal of the Chhattisgarh Handicrafts.
