• iPod is

marketed by Apple and launched on October 23, 2001.
• The product line-up currently consists of

– compact iPod Nano
– ultra-compact iPod Shuffle
• Storage capacity varies from 2 GB to 160 GB.
• All of the models have been redesigned multiple times
since their introduction.
• The most recent iPod redesigns were introduced on
September 1, 2010.

•Introduced on April 29, 2003.
•Completely redesigned model.
•Completely non-mechanical touch-
sensitive wheel.
•Rounded edges.
•It also became slimmer.

third generation iPod with the Click
Wheel.

Click Wheel.
•It was also known as the iPod Video

2007, Steve Jobs introduced the
sixth generation iPod and added
the suffix "classic".

incorporating more graphics.

Allegations of worker exploitation
•British tabloid The Mail on Sunday reported that iPods are
mainly manufactured by workers who earn no more than US$50
per month and work 15-hour shifts.
•An employee killed himself in 2009 when an Apple prototype
went missing, and claimed in messages to friends, that he had
been beaten and interrogated.
