2.1. History (important milestones)
2.1.1. Political and Legal
• Vietnam experienced a period of country
separation into two states with two different
political systems in the north and the south, which
was unified in 1975 to become a one-party state
named The Socialist Republic of Vietnam (SRV)
• Vietnam’s one-party state has been transitioning
from a “hard authoritarian” to a “soft
authoritarian” state since 1986, which facilitating
the alternation of Vietnam’s political structure
while maintaining the commanding role of the
party

In recent years, the sustainability development is


becoming a serious issue in Vietnam for the
Vietnamese government and enterprises. Vietnam is
a developing country, the implementation of CSR
also encountered many obstacles and limitations.
These obstacles and limitations come not only from
the business itself but also from the operating
environment.

2.4 . Recommendations and Improvement of CSR in
VIETNAM

• Need to implement and integrate CSR into Vietnamese enterprises' business strategies.
• CSR awareness should be improved as well as the legal framework for implementing CSR.
• Further research could identify factors that motivate Vietnamese SMEs to fulfill their social responsibilities
as well as determine the impact of CSR on business performance.
• Companies with comprehensive CSR programs and best practices should be encouraged to share their
experiences and to set more visible guidance for large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises
(SMEs) in Vietnam.
• Educating Vietnamese students during their university days could help change their mindset early and hence
benefit Vietnamese businesses at the core value.

3.3.3. About the production process
 In 2013, Vinamilk obtained the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and
Critical Control Points) system certification according to the new
version RVA5 (issued in 2012).
 In 2014, achieved the certificate of Halal standards (standard
products for Muslims).
 In the third quarter of 2014, five factories of Vinamilk have obtained
the certificate of FSSC 22000 standard and will proceed to certify the
remaining factories in 2015.
 In 2014, all the laboratories of Vinamilk's factories obtained the
certificate of ISO 17025

3.5.1. “Stand tall Vietnam Milk Fund”
- The milk fund was established
in 2008

- From 2008 to 2021, brought more than 37


million glasses of milk to more than
460,000 children

- Vinamilk at the launch of the fund “One million trees for


Vietnam” in Hanoi on April 18, 2012
