A. BACKGROUND
Speech is a way for someone to communicate to deliver
the sentences they want to convey with information or
meaning so others can understand. According to (Siti

set of voices uttered by one and understood by
someone else. Speech is also the ability to speak that a
person has to express themselves in various things and
situations by using language as a tool in delivering it.
For English students, speeches have a crucial role in every speaking
activity that is carried out. According to (Srinivas Rao, 2019)
speaking is deemed the most important skill in learning a foreign or
second language. However, some English students continue to
struggle when doing speeches. Even though they are in English class
almost every day, not all of them can fulfill every component of

According to (C. T. Mart, 2012) state speaking consists of producing systematic verbal
1 utterances to convey meaning ( utterances are simply things people say ). Speaking is an
interactive process of constructing meaning that involves producing and receiving and processing
information (Brown, 1994)
Speaking for EFL learners is not easy it requires much effort to produce acceptable utterances and
sentences in English (Abugohar et al., 2019). In the scope of education, the issues and difficulties often
occur in speaking for EFL learners, EFL learners no matter how much they know about the English language
still face many speaking difficulties (Hosni, 2014). According to Aisha (2020) there are some challenges in
speaking of EFL learners such as Fear of Making Mistakes, Shyness, Anxiety, Lack of Confidence and Lack
of Motivation.
4. Language Adversity in Spoken Language
Students who use English for spoken communication frequently face a variety of challenges
that prevent them from delivering speeches fluently, many students who had learned English
in many years still find them difficult to express their idea in oral form (Susilawati, 2017).
said by Susilawati (2018) in her study of speaking problems faced by students in
