1. Limited to the differences in personality of the students, namely
differences between extroverted and introverted students in speaking
performance in the eleventh grade of State Islamic Senior High School 1
Padang Lawas.

2. The population of this research is all of the students at eleventh grade
state Islamic Senior High School 1 Padang Lawas. And the sample of this
research is science students of eleventh grade State Islamic Senior High
School 1 Padang Lawas.

1. Extroverted students are students who are sociable, friendly, talkative and
confident when they speak in front of many people.
2. Introvert personality is a personality that is closed, shy, and has little talk.
Introverted students tend to be nervous and not confident in speaking.

3. Speaking performance is the ability to communicate orally that involves
words and sounds and is an ability that everyone must have to convey
ideas or information to others and to prevent misunderstandings by the
listener.

2 1) A research by Yolla Agustriani (2020) with the title of the research is about
“A Comparative Study Between Extrovert and Introvert Students on Speaking

Performance at State Senior High School 4 Pekanbaru.” This research used
causal-comparative analysis design. The study was conducted to tenth science
grade students at State Senior High School 4 Pekanbaru with 252 students as a
sample. The issue with this research is there a significant difference between
4
extroverted and introverted students in the speaking performance in the tenth
grade of state senior high school 4 Pekanbaru. Research indicates that there is a
significant difference between extrovert and introvert students toward the
appearance of speaking in the tenth grade State Senior High School 4
Pekanbaru.
