1. Pupils turn to Close-up page 140 and look at the picture on the bottom half of the page and describe it in pairs.
2. Pupils discuss who the people might be, how they might be feeling and what they might be doing there.
3. A few pairs share their discussion with the class.
PRE-LESSON
4. Pupils discuss as a class if any of them have ever been on a school trip and if they have, describe to the rest of
the class where they went, what they did and what impression the place and the activitiy made on them.

1. Pupils look at Section A and read the instructions.


2. Pupils match 5 words and expressions with 5 definitions.
3. Pupils check answers as a class.
4. Pupils close their textbooks and listen to the teacher’s explanation of the content of Exam Close-up.

6. Pupils move on to Section C and read the instructions.
