1. Pupils turn to Pulse 2 page 25 and recap the structure of was/were and could/couldn’t by reading the 2 tables
PRE-LESSON
about their structures.
1. Pupils complete 3 questions with “was” or “were”.
2. Pupils exchange answers with a partner and later discuss as a class.
3. Pupils move on to Activity 4 in Pulse 2 and complete 5 gap fills in a conversation with could/couldn’t.
LESSON 4. Pupils compare their answers with a partner and then discuss as a class.
DEVELOPMENT 5. Pupils proceed to Activity 5 and write 4 questions with “could”.
6. Pupils work in pairs and take turns to ask each other the 4 questions.
7. A few pairs share their discussion with the class.
8. Pupils do correction for any mistakes made.
9. Pupils are asked to think of at least 1 example sentence for was/were and could/couldn’t.
