WELCOME TO THE

GRAND OPENING OF
CHART CARNIVAL!
OPENING PRAYER
Almighty and loving father, we praise and adore
you. Thankyou for this day, for allowing us to
meet despite the situation that we have- the
pandemic. We are gathering here today for our
class. May you send us your Holy Spirit to be our
guide to understand our lesson to be discussed
today. May you always grant us the courage to
follow your way. In Jesus name, I pray AMEN
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, learners are expected to:

a Determine the appropriate graph for each

set of data.
b Create and analyzed graphs
c Appreciate the importance of using
appropriate graphs in presenting
information.
Let us get your
entry pass!

Situation
A student’s field trip with the Theme:
“Ride and Learn” was held in Gulod
National High School- Mamatid
Extension. Based on the registration
records, the frequency distribution of
the ages of the participants was
constructed.
Q1 In which age
bracket does the
greatest number of
participants fall?
Q2What age bracket
has 6 participants?
Q3How many
participants whose
age falls between 13
to 15 years old?
Q4 What is the possible
age of the youngest
participant?
Q5What is the total
number of
participants?
Let us get more

PRESENTATION OF DATA

This refers to the organization of data

into tables, graphs, and charts, so that
logical and statistical conclusions can be
derived from the collected measurements.
LINE GRAPH
A line graph is an illustration that shows the
association between the independent variable (on
the horizontal axis) and the dependent variable
(on the vertical axis). The association can be
either an increasing or decreasing trend. Line
graph is useful in presenting data that indicate
changes over a period of time.

BAR GRAPH
It is a representation that uses bars or rectangles that
show the frequency of each category. Comparison
among frequencies can be easily done by looking at
the respective heights of the bars. It is the
appropriate diagram to show how much greater or
less one measurement of an observation is from the
other. Gaps between bars are spaced equally.

PIE CHART
A pie chart is a circular diagram
that shows the proportion of each
category. Each proportion is usually
labeled by either percent or a
fraction. The slices in a pie chart are
known as sectors.
LET’S CHECK THE WEATHER
Before proceeding to the amusement park, let's check the estimated report
of the changes of temperature for today. Illustrate the data using a line graph.

9AM 10AM 11AM 12NN 1PM 2PM 3PM 4PM

23°C 24°C 26°C 27°C 27°C 25°C 24°C 24°C

What is the lowest
temperature between 9am
until 4pm?
23°C
At what time(s) was the
highest temperature
measured?
12NN AND
1PM
Between what times
there is no change in
temperature?
12NN AND 1PM
3PM AND 4PM
What is the increase in
temperature between
9am and 11 am?
3°C
Between what times
is there a decline of
temperature?
2PM AND
3PM
  WHICH RIDE?
The teachers conducted a survey
among incoming Grade 7 students. They
asked a sample of 200 students with the
following survey question.
WHICH RIDE SURVEY

In which rides would you like to ride?

Carousel Bumper Cars

Flying Fiesta Ferris Wheel

The following frequency distribution was constructed. Illustrate
the data using a bar graph.
Which chosen ride
shows you the
tallest bar on the
graph?

BUMPER CARS
The shortest bar is
displayed by what
amusement ride?
FLYING FIESTA
“Pie Slices”

How to construct a pie chart?
To complete a pie chart, you need to
compute the:
1. percentage of each observation.
2. the number of degrees for the sector or
the size of the “piece of slice” for each
observation.

Amusement Frequency Percentage
Rides
Carousel 42 21%
Bumper Cars 68

34%

Flying Fiesta 36 18%

Ferris Wheel 54 27%

TOTAL 200

How to construct a pie chart?
3. With the aid of a protractor and compass,
you can construct the circle and sectors
needed.
4. Lastly, label each sector with their
corresponding observation and percentage.

Which Amusement
ride has the greatest BUMPER
proportion chosen CARS
by the students?
What Amusement
ride has the least FLYING
percentage? FIESTA
What percent of
the students
chose Bumper
Cars?
34%
If the needed number of
facilitators will be based
on the number of their
students, which BUMPER
amusement ride should CARS
have the greatest number
of facilitators?
“WHAT WILL YOU
BRING?”

A survey was conducted among 100

students, and they were asked which
among the four essentials is the most
relevant to bring in amusement park?
Illustrate the data using a bar graph.
“WHAT WILL YOU
BRING?”

  ESSENTIALS Frequency
E1 MONEY 50
E2 FOOD 30

Which chosen
essential shows you
the tallest bar on the

graph?
The shortest bar is
displayed by what EXTRA
essential?

Using the table in Learning Task 1,
complete the table below to
compute for the size of the sector.
Complete the pie chart. Include
labels.

greatest proportion
chosen by the students? MONEY

least percentage? EXTRA
