IAEA Donation

IAEA donation includes a mobile x-

ray system which may be used by
healthcare providers to identify and
characterize pulmonary abnormalities
caused by the disease… … and also includes equipment and materials for a
nuclear-derived technique called “real time reverse
transcription polymerase chain reaction” (RT-PCR),
which remains the gold standard in COVID-19 testing

Honey Internal Standard Stable Carbon Isotope Ratio Method for the detection of adulteration of
Analysis (ISCIRA) or AOAC 998.12 honeys with C-4 sugars based on the deviation
Adulteration of carbon-13 isotope ratio of the bulk honey from
its honey protein internal standard
Assessed 58 store-bought honey samples (17 12 out of 17 (70.5%) of local honey were
local, 41 imported) purchased from adulterated C4 sugars
supermarkets, bee farms and souvenir shops 64 out of 74 (86.5%) online-bought local honey
were likewise adulterated
41 imported honey not adulterated

• Adulterated honey comprises 70 – 86.5%

of the Philippine local honey market
• Adulterated honey can be sold for as low as
⅓ of the price of authentic honey
• Elimination of adulterated honey can result to
10 – 15× increase in income for authentic honey
producers: from ₱25M to ₱250 – 375M industry
