INTRODUCTION

GENERAL CONTEXT
- Multiplication of civil Engineering, construction and public works.
- Quarries development
- Utilisation of blasting explosives for rock fragmentaion.
- Remediation to drilling and blasting pattern calculation.

PROBLEMATIC
How to optimize a good marble blast design with less expenditure,
reducing time waste and avoiding energy loss?

OBJECTIVE
To have a required marble block size of ≤460mm after
firing in other to ease the crushing activity.

TOTAL EXPENDITURE

The blast cost: 5.333.600 Fcfa that is 8% of

reduction compares to the old blasting activity
did in the past by the quarry which was
5.743.600 FCFA for the same activity.

IV- DISCUSSION (1)
POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE IMPACTS OF THE METHODS USED
Methods Impacts (+ve & -ve)
Blowing of water out of the holes - High cost;
- Time consuming;
-Smetime incomplete evacuation;
-Avoid misfire.

Confection of ANFO plastic gaines - Time consuming;

- To avoid the Anfo to get incontact;
with water due to the rainy season.
Double priming -High cost;
- Permitted to obtain our required
marble block size.
CONCLUSION
