    HFO Automatic backwash filter
    • HFO automatic backwash filter is self-cleaning through own-medium
    flushing
    • Backwash is triggered due to following two reasons
    • Timer i.e. 30min
    • Differential pressure between inlet and outlet of filter
    • The back-flushing effect depends on the pressure differential between
    the clean side of the filter and flushing oil piping
    • Earlier piping route of backwash oil was to sludge tank, however in
    order to save this oil this route is changed to clean oil tank

    • In each routine backwash interval 1.8 Liter HFO is backwashed
    • Total 48 backwashes a day and 1440 per month
    • Total HFO drained per month = 1440 x 1.8 = 2592 Liter
    • Price of HFO per Kg = Rs. 80
    • Price of HFO drained per month = 80 x 2592 = Rs. 207,360
    • Price of HFO drained per Year = 207360 x 12 = Rs. 2,488,320

    *Note: In case of malfunction backwash triggers will be even more


    A total 70 backwashes were recorded in recent malfunction
