ELIMINATOR System
Bolts directly to engine

•Uses existing disposable filter head attachment points

No external power requirements

•Filtered oil back-flushes the filter

•Filtered oil drives the hydraulic motor
•Back-flushed oil drives the centrifuge
ELIMINATOR System
Continuous and efficient back flushing

•Total filter surface cleaned every 90 seconds

•Solids won’t stick to filter mesh

Full flow filter service at engine overhaul

Bypass flow centrifuge service ranges from 500-

2000 hour intervals

•Service interval dependent on load factor, machine

application and oil quality

Backflush flow cleaning:

Cleaner oil, longer oil life, longer engine life removes
particles down to and below 2 µ

Based on proven, Alfa Laval disc stack centrifuge tech.

Cleaned oil drives centrifuge

Sludge collects on paper liner on the centrifuge wall.

ELIMINATOR Customer Value Analysis Software

ELIMINATOR System

When correctly installed and initially started-up, the Eliminator automatic lube oil
filter requires very little attention. However, to ensure continued reliable
operation, the filter must be checked at regular intervals.
ELIMINATOR System

Every day the pressure drop and hydraulic motor must

be checked visually for :

1. The pressure drop does not exceed 0.2 bar higher

than the reference value determined in 2.2.1 (1).

2. The hydraulic motor rotates in a stepwise manner.

3. The number of minutes for one revolution is not

more than 1 minute above the reference value
determined in 2.2.1 (2).

4. If pressure drop and hydraulic motor values are

higher than stated, see chapter 3, «
troubleshooting ».
ELIMINATOR System

Note !
If the sludge cake thickness is greater than 14
mm, reduce the service interval by 250 hours.

If the sludge cake thickness is less than 7 mm

extend the service interval by 250 hours.

The first check of sludge thickness should be made after the first 1000
hours of service.

Measure the sludge thickness at two points 90 degrees apart, 10mm up

from the bottom of the sludge cake.

To measure the sludge cake place a wooden stick through the sludge.

Measure the mark on the stick.

The sludge thickness should not be above 14 mm.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

3.1. PROBLEMS AT INITIAL START-UP BEFORE A ΔP ALARM

OCCURS
3.1.1. No revolution or slow revolution of the hydraulic motor
Slow revolution means :
More than 10 minutes for one revolution at standstill
More than 5 minutes for one revolution with a working engine

Pressure Drop Test

Check the pressure drop across the filter. Remove one plug from each
side at the top of the filter housing. Install pressure gauges in the ports.
Operate the engine to normal operating temperature. Record the
readings from both gauges.

NOTE: The difference between the two measurements is the pressure

drop across the filter.
