Strengths
e a ts
Th r
Strengths

 The SS Curriculum is spiraling to the next

higher level, Thus it provides prior knowledge
and increasing depth understanding to the
content.
SS Curriculum is appropriate for the age of the
students. Patriotism must be instilled in them
at an early age and applied in their daily lives.
Strengths
SS in the K to 12 curriculum is a progression and is
culture and identity based. It also teaches citizenship
and Filipinism.
Weaknesses
 The SS Content is congested therefore there are some
contents that are not properly pointed out therefore there are
areas or concepts that can be considered gray to the learners.

 Time engagement of the learner per week can be considered

as a weakness in terms of goals due to the limited time the
teaching learning process will probably be affected thus
teachers where just focus on the most essential competencies
rather than enduring learning
Weaknesses
 No available textbooks, learners are dependent on the social
media and most of them are not aware on the reliability of the
resources.

 Support instructional materials and textbooks are sometimes

outdated that creates confusion among teachers and learners.
Opportunities
Since the curriculum of the 4-6 is spiral students will
have a glimpse of information that they can use in
understanding new concepts and learning
experience.
Students learn the great sacrifices of our forefathers
like Andres Bonifacio, Jose Rizal, ect. in fighting just
to gain the freedom of our country. In this manner,
students must give importance to their sacrifices and
should develop the spirit of patriotism.
Opportunities

Social studies in the curriculum sees a wider

perspective of development due to proactive and
participative citizen that shapes up the future of
society.

Learners are given the chance to know & love our

culture and country as well.
Spiraling becomes also a threat because the Threats
information is chunking per content whereas if the
learners take on Understanding By Design ( UBD) the
pertaining skills can be achieved, and enduring
learning will be emphasized
Not all learners have the means to research on the
internet because of internet connectivity issues in the
remotest areas/barangays and some students don't
have gadgets at all. Their interest in studying the
lessons will be lessened.
Threats
The emergence of information from Social media
platforms that alter and twist the real details of
history and events of society.

The lack of interest in the study of social studies.

Limited resources of legitimate information and most

of the time are the misleading details on some social
media platforms.
