EDITING DOCUMENTS

FIND AND REPLACE

• Find (Ctrl+F) – Find text or other content in the document.


• Replace (Ctrl+H) – search for text you’d like to change, and replace it with
something else.
SPELLING AND GRAMMAR (ALT+F7)

• Check spelling and grammar


• Review tab > spelling and grammar
SPECIAL SYMBOLS

• Insert symbol – add symbols that are not on your keyboard.


- Choose from a variety of options including
mathematical, currency and copyright symbol.
- Insert tab > symbol
EQUATION

• Insert an equation – Add common mathematical equations to


your document, such as the area of a circle or the quadratic
formula.
FORMATTING TEXT
SETTING TEXT FONTS

• Font (Ctrl+Shift+F) – Pick a new


font for your text.
TEXT DECORATION

• Text effects and typography – add some flair to your text by


applying a text effect, such as a shadow or glow.
INDENT PARAGRAPHS

• Decrease Indent – move your paragraph closer to the margin.


• Increase Indent – move you paragraph farther away from the
margin.
SPACING

• Spacing Before – change how much space appears above the


selected paragraph.
• Spacing After – change how much space appears below the
selected paragraph.
BORDERS AND SHADES
Borders and Shading
• add or change the border around the page.
• A border draws focus and adds a stylish touch to your document. You can
create a border using a variety of line styles, widths and colors, or choose
an art border with a fun theme.
• Design tab > page borders
PAGE COLOR

• Add a splash of color to your document by changing the color of


the page.
• Design tab > page color
WATERMARK

• Add ghost text, such as “confidential” or “urgent” behind the content on the
page.
• The faint watermark is a great way to show that the document requires
special treatment without distracting from the content.

WORKING WITH TABLES
CREATE A TABLE

• Table – a great way to organize information within your


document.
• Insert tab > table
TABLE

• Draw table – design your own table by drawing the cell, row and column
borders yourself. You can even draw diagonal lines and cells within cells.
• Table eraser – remove specific borders in a table to create merged cells.
• Delete table – delete rows, columns, cells or the entire table.
ROWS AND COLUMNS

• Insert rows above – add a new row directly above the current row.
• Insert rows below - add a new row directly below the current row.
• Insert columns to the left – add new column directly to the left of
the current column.
• Insert columns to the right – add new column directly to the right
of the current column.
MERGE

• Merge cells – merge the selected cells into one cell.


• Split cells – split the current cell into multiple cells.
• Split table – split table into two tables. The current row will
become the first row of the new table.

INSERT PICTURE

• Insert pictures from your computer or from other computers that


you’re connected to.
• Insert tab > pictures
PICTURE BORDER AND EFFECTS

• Picture border – pick the color, width, and line style for the
outline of your shape.
• Picture effects – apply a visual effect to the picture, such as a
shadow, glow, reflection, or 3-D rotation.
