 Problem1: Prepare the types and number of equipment required for the
following activities:
 Earthwork of road projects with average earthwork Bank volume of 1700 m3. From the
specified amount 400 m3 bank volume is to be carted away and the rest amount is reused.
 Concrete work of fourth floor slab with consolidated total work volume 160 m3which is
transported from a central batching plant 10km away from the site.

Problem 2.

A power shovel whose total initial cost is 72,390 ETB has an

estimated useful live of 6 years, with an estimated salvage value of
7000 ETB. Prepare a table listing the annual cost of depreciation
and the value at the end of each of the 6 year based on the straight
line, double declining balance and sum of year digits method of
computing the annual cost of depreciation. Prepare a graph with
curves showing the book value of the power shovel during the 6
year life.
